The late Charles de Kunffy

On 14 April, Charles de Kunffy, nephew of Lajos Kunffy, died at the age of 89.

Charles was an excellent rider as a young man, and after he left the country in 1956, he went to America and graduated as a psychologist from the University of California, Berkeley. His whole life has been devoted to horses: from dressage to show jumping, he has made a lasting contribution. As a horse trainer, he has become a schooling figure and the most successful trainer and trainer in North America in the last 40 years (he was the first person to be inducted into the Equestrian Hall of Fame in 2013). He has trained a succession of Olympians and his courses have brought him enormous popularity (and economic success).

He has visited Somogytur several times in recent years. His kind, warm-hearted personality has aroused sympathy in everyone.

May God rest his soul!"
