(based on Government Decree 194/2000 (XI.24.)) the following national of the European Economic Area (EEA):
- a disabled person and a companion
- a teacher working in public education with a valid teacher's certificate
- a person with a professional card issued by the Minister
- a member of a national professional public collection organisation with at least 400 members (Pulszky Society, Hungarian Librarians' Association, Hungarian Archivists' Association)
On national holidays (15 March, 20 August and 23 October), the museum is free of charge for all visitors, regardless of nationality.
In addition, EEA nationals may visit the permanent exhibitions of museums free of charge on the first Sunday of each month if:
- under 26 years of age
- accompanied by a person under 18 and a close relative (up to 2 persons)
